After having a photo of my collar taken by a fellow Vogue festival blogger, I was handed her card. Of course I took a look at the blog and I was extremely impressed with what I found. Definitely a girl after my own heart- jewelly and studs being a recurring theme along with a whole selection of fashion images which will inspire anyones dress.

Find the blog at http://lamaisonsartoriedamber.tumblr.com/ Its worth a look!

The day started with my perfect shade of red lipstick being applied by beauty industry experts- a necessary starting point to perfecting the Vogue Festival look. The lipstick chosen for me was 'Rouge Dior 862' a dark purply/ red shade. As soon as this was applied and we had looked at what was on offer throughout the festival  it was time to head to the theatre to hear the inspiration that is Diane Von Furstenberg talk through her life and career. In a passionate and elegant display of her success the glamorous feminist gave a fascinating presentation showing some legendary images which have influenced her career and talking through the statement piece- the wrap dress.  I was at awe how elegant she was and how much she has accomplished in her lifetime.

After we had been inspired to be an independent woman we went to get our Vogue mock –up cover shoot done. We were shown to an array of Chanel accessories, any we could choose to wear in our photoshoot- I chose a stunning Chanel bracelet and Chanel sunglasses. The pictures were shot by one of the magazines contributing photographers, a really fun experience and it just so happened DVF walked in the room to watch me get my photos taken.

Next stop was our hair that was styled by Josh Wood and his team. The 5 minute transformation changed my straight hair to flicked curls styled to wear my hat, my festival look was complete.
It was then time for a banana muffin snack to hold our concentration through the next two rounds of talks.

During fashion question time with designers Holly Fulton, Henry Holland, Roksanda Ilincic, Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzoua and Nicholas Kirkwood we heard how each designer started their companies/ gained funding and where they wish to go next. It was clear to see how each individual personality is portrayed though their work and the passion each has to succeed was extremely admirable. They also gave some valuable advice to the next generation of young designers.

After question time it was straight on to David Bailey who I can only describe as a character. He had the whole audience in stitches with his name dropping stories about highly regarded members of the fashion world. Going off on a limb after every question asked about romances and women, he has clearly had an impressive career with a social life to match.

The day ended with a necessary trip to Oxford street Topshop and then back to Loughborough to reflect on the day and put my design brain to work.

I am already looking forward to next year!
