New Designers 2013

It feels like a lifetime ago I was setting up my exhibition at New Designers in the Buisness Design centre, London but in fact only a year has passed ... and what a year its been.
Its now time for the next group of budding fresh faced designers to exhibit their talent and compete for that dream job.

Go get inspired ...

New Designers 2013

School by Vogue

‘ London is going through a fantastic time at the moment in terms of fashion - both creatively and in the world of retail.’- Alexandra Shulman, editor of Vogue

With Vogue pretty much running the fashion world it only makes sense for them to educate the future of fashion and design directly, and this is what they have decided to do. Excitingly Conde Nast had opened a college of Fashion and design in the heart of Soho. A brand new step on the fashion ladder which never before existed.

Offering a choice of a ten week crash course where students will achieve a Vogue Fashion Certificate on completing or a year long course achieving a Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma on completion.

With knowledge and wisdom being passed on from fashion experts along with access to top of the range facilities this college is a gold mine for graduates and or budding fashion designers and editors. Just imagine how exciting it would be to attend a school created by Vogue, style, education and fashion all rolled into one... I can't imagine anything else more ideal.

Chalk me up

With Ombre hair and pastel colors being a huge trend this season its no surprise that the creative minds have routed through their arts and crafts boxes and selected a chalk to be their new hair dye tool. Who could resist the variety of chalky colors and effortless dip dye effect... not me.
If you are going for just the ends or an all entire head, be careful where you chalk it could become quite a messy game.

Color

Being a designer is about finding color inspiration in the usual and unusual.

California Girls

Harper Smith

Gritty, edgy, dirty, romantic and real are the words I would use to describe the style of Harper Smiths photography. Her work possess a grungy energy with a youthful Los Angeles attitude. Consistently capturing the beauty of a shot it is not surprising Harper has shot for some of the biggest names in music.

Shooting what feels like candid photographs Harper skillfully captures an honest behind the scenes life of a California girl.

The Secret

I am currently reading the book 'The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, an inspiring take on how we use out thoughts to manifest what our life is like. I feel this image sums up the idea of the book and 'the secret' to your perfect life.

If you focus on the positive the positive will attract...

... look for the flowers and you will see them.

I am taking my beachwear inspiration from the 1940's this summer- sunglasses, one pieces, head dresses... I'm in.
