TOMORROW Thursday 14th November has been a highly-anticipated day for Isabel Marant fans and H&M shoppers in the US, the day we US citizens get our grubby mitts on the newly launched cheap but chic collaboration.
I already have my eye on certain pieces so will definitely be taking an extra long lunch tomorrow to fight my way through the crowds and scour the racks for my wanted list… no difference from the usual lunchtime shopping rush on 34th street.
It seems designer and high street collaborations are most definitely on the up so lets keep our fingers crossed for the new Chanel highstreet launch …. maybe… someday.

So when I say boyfriend I'm obviously talking about the coat everyone is rocking this season .. come on I'm not that desperate….
Sadly I had to depart with my trusty Topshop Boyfriend coat from last winter. It got to a stage of no return after wearing it pretty much the entire season so I had to 'man-up' and break-up with the beloved camel oversized masculine garment in faith that one just as good was lurking on the horizon.
Unfortunately this year that hasn't been the case and I am struggling to match last years companion, you don't know what you've got until its gone right !?
But don't fear theres a light at the end of the tunnel! Every winter Zara manages to get it spot on with their coats, I don't know whether its a great eye for trend, sophistication and style or an expert ability to subtly 're-create' … cough …. Sandro…. cough …. the top designers. Either way doesn't bother me as it means we paupers get the runway at a fraction of the price, thanks Zara.

The winner of H&M's Design Award 2013 Minju Kim is now on the way to fashion stardom and if her first collection is anything to go by I am SO excited to see her career unfold.
Her fun, playful, bright and wacky collection of expertly crafted beautiful fabrics makes you wonder what's taken so long for this style of garment to grace our catwalks. With oversized silhouettes being a must every Autumn this collection could not be more appropriate to todays 'dare to wear' style fashion consumers. Encompassing this seasons pastel palette, fur, and craft in a elegant, wearable, young and contemporary way, what more could you want.

The art of dress
I met Tziporah Salamon at the Manhattan Vintage show and started chatting to her after photographing her outfit (see Manhattan Vintage post)
She proceeded to tell me about her seminars she gives, teaching women the elements of vintage dress from the comfort of her own home. Not only is the seminar an intriguing insight into a women's life dedicated to the art of fashion dressing but I am also dying to see what it is like inside the home of such a fashion guru.
Classes vary from week to week and registering is a must. See you there!

What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than searching through rack after rack of vintage gems. The Manhattan Vintage Fall Show ran through the 25th and 26th October and if you managed to get a chance to see it you can tell why it needs a full 2 days dedicated to it.
Cases of vintage jewelry, shoes, sunglasses, hats, dresses, coats, trousers and much much more made me re-think my choice to move into the apartment I can barely afford and after I found my perfect leopard coat for $250 I was ready to tear up the contract and move into a shed down the road….. don't worry this didn't actually happen… but I am still thinking about the coat …
A chance to spot the fashionistas of Manhattan and maybe a chance to finally hold that vintage Chanel bag you dream of or wear that oversized black fur Dolce and Gabanna coat you have been saving for all your life. Whatever reason you want to go, with cash in pocket or not, I would greatly recommend the show. I'll be saving my pennies until next season …
